We've produced over 25 hours of prime time programming that has sold around the world.
Our current series, Green Heroes, airs on TVO and profiles 45 environmental champions from
the celebrity to every day person. By acting on their ideas, these Green Heroes have achieved
environmental success and inspired others to do the same.
With a speciality in arts biographies that explore history and social issues, Museum
Maestros chronicles the life and work of the world's premier museum planners, Gail and Barry
Lord. This dynamic pair of unlikely cultural heroes take us on a journey to some of the most
inspirational and innovative cultural centres across the globe, including The World Trade
Center Memorial in New York City, The Museum of the African Diaspora in San Francisco, and
the future home of the Canadian Museum for Human Rights in Winnipeg.
Our latest biography is Buffy Sainte Marie: A Multimedia Life.In it Buffy's extraordinary
life is told on screen for the first time. Featuring interviews with Buffy, Joni Mitchell, Robbie
Robertson, Randy Bachman, Bill Cosby and Steppenwolf's John Kay, this one-hour program
weaves archival and current performance footage with visits to Buffy's home in Hawaii and her
birthplace near the Piapot Reserve in Saskatchewan. The documentary premiered
on Bravo! in November, 2006, was nominated for a Juno-award in 2009, and continues to air
on stations around the world.
Another CineFocus Canada TV is C.W. Jefferys: Picturing Canada, an arts biography on the
prolific illustrator of Canadian history. It aired on Bravo! and TVO's Masterworks.
Beauty and the Beach was an instant hit that aired across Canada on a dozen networks. It
was distributed by Films Transit and enjoyed broadcasts in twelve countries on four
continents. This one-hour documentary used the vehicle of the bathing suit to explore the
impact of the century's changing beauty ideals on women's body image.
Other credits include Northern Lights, 28 profiles of celebrated Canadians for Global
Television and Lucky Breaks, a 26 episode documentary series for Star! - CHUM
Television's national entertainment channel and A&E's Biography Channel in the U.S. This
series explores the career breakthroughs of renowned personalities and asks them to
contemplate the role luck played in their success.
Visions from the Wilderness: The Art of Paul Kane, an arts biography on the
grandfather of Canadian art, picked up a pair of international awards and aired across Canada
on Bravo!, and in Ireland on TG4. The documentary profiles Paul Kane's life and the artistic
compromise he made for the sake of his audience.
