A true symbol of the
precious rainforest of Coastal British Columbia, a beautiful
white bear lives in harmony with its complex surroundings.
But what some might assume is the famed Polar Bear is
actually the Spirit Bear. Fewer than 100 remain, and
continued clear-cutting and landslides might see an
end to its delicate relationship with the Great Bear
Rainforest.
Sprit Bear: At the Heart of Canada's
Rainforest, produced for The Discovery Channel's
Wild Discovery, takes viewers on a journey through
Canada's pristine British Columbia coast in search of
the rare white bear who has become a "poster child"
of the environmental movement, and looks at the issues
threatening its rainforest habitat.
